A recent tweet from Phil Spencer confirms that mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One is “not far away.” The tweet was in response to a question regarding the possibility of streaming from PC to an Xbox One console. Another user commented that the Xbox One would need to support mouse and keyboard controls for such a feature to work. As you can see from the screen capture below, Spencer confirmed that support for mouse and keyboards will be coming relatively soon.
There is no word if this feature will be limited to the web browser and system functions or if could actually be used in video games. If games can indeed use mouse and keyboards then we imagine it will be up to the developers to decide if they want to enable this functionality within their games.
