After news broke last month that the director Scott Derrickson was leaving Doctor Strange 2, everyone was wondering who Marvel would get for this movie. It seems that we will be getting the director of the famed Spider-Man movies from the early 2000s. Variety is reporting that Sam Raimi is in talks to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
If you’re wondering what kind of director Sam Raimi is going to be for this series, here are a few of the movies he directed in the past. Just remember he did bring us that ill-fated Spider-Man 3 with the emo dancing Peter Parker. I hope he learned from that mistake.
- Evil Dead
- Evil Dead 2
- Army of Darkness
- The Quick and the Dead
- Drag Me to Hell
As you can see from the list of movies above Sam Raimi is more than qualified to director Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Benedict Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role as the title character along with Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlett Witch. The movie is supposed to tie into the show WandaVision which will be hitting Disney + this December. It shouldn’t be more than a week or two before Sam Raimi is officially announced as the director.
