One of the perks of a paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription is access to a library of classic NES games. You can download the available games and play them to your heart’s content so long as your subscription is active. As neat as that perk may be, you would be forgiven for wondering if NES games are the extent of what we are going to get when it comes to playing classic games from older Nintendo systems. It turns out that Nintendo has already considered this and will likely unlock the ability to play classic SNES games on your Switch console and it appears this new games library will be coming fairly soon. Hackers have datamined the NES Online app and found references to nearly two dozen SNES games complete with descriptions.

The list may look somewhat familiar to longtime Nintendo fans. Many of those games were made available on the SNES CLassic micro-console which first released back in 2017. Even Star Fox 2 makes an appearance (that game was never released until the launch of the SNES Classic).
It appears that Nintendo is also planning to add games from two other historic consoles to the Switch Online service. Another hacker who uses the name OatmealDome found references to four different emulators in the app:
I was looking through the NES Switch app with @KapuccinoHeck and @Simon1844. I found four emulator types:
Kachikachi (NES Classic)
Canoe (SNES Classic)
Hiyoko (???)
Count (???)This could mean there will be two new Classic consoles and/or three new consoles for Switch Online.

The NES Emulator is known as Kachikachi while the SNES emulator is called Canoe. We do not yet know what systems Hiyoko and Count refer to. My guess is at least one of them is a reference to the Nintendo 64.
