On June 14, 2013, The Last Of Us was released. It was one of the final games on the Playstation 3. Yet, the sales the critically claimed the number of awards this game won. The number of eyes this game opened for the masses. However, that’s all in the past and we are here in the now. The Last Of Us 2 is going to be out on May 29, 2020, will it be better than the first one? I Belive it will and here is why.
Love? Hell No Its Hate Time
The Last Of Us 2 is going to be all about hate and revenge, let that sink in. At least that’s what Neil Druckmann stated During a panel discussion PSX in 2016.
Let’s do a little bit of a recap of all the major things that happened during the first game.
- Sarah’s death
- Tess’s death
- Sam’s death
- His brother Henry killing himself after seeing Sam dies in front of his own eyes (ouch)
- Ellie almost being raped by the cannibal David.
- And then there is the ending with Marlene and Joel lie.
The only way I think they can go darker is by doing this: having Ellie getting raped and she is forced to keep the baby cause he/she is semi-immune now as well thus makes the baby super important. The other way is having Dana either betray her or die in front of her eyes.
Nimble Ellie
Ellie is going to be way different to play with then with Joel. Not only you can crawl under cars, you can jump, you’re also faster than Joel and more nimble. Image how many possibilities these perks can open in terms of enemies and ways of fighting them but, also running away from them hiding under cars in a treehouse? Anything is possible when it comes to Naughty Dogs. Time and time again they find ways to have us being speechless, make us lose our mind, the same way they did with the first one.
A Juggernaut
We are going to have it all: from new enemies to new weapons, new story, definitely shocking death ( at least that’s what I believe). The Last Of Us 2 is going to be a juggernaut of a game, I am looking forward to how many improvements they are going to be adding. New clickers, the sounds they will be making. Having Dana with you could make the game be semi single-player co-op in certain sections.
The Last Of Us had many epic quotes from (Treading on some mighty thin ice, or tell them Ellie’s the name of the little girl… that BROKE YOUR F***ING FINGER! And this one You know, as bad as those things are, at least they’re predictable. It’s the normal people that scare me).
Joel’s Fate
Joel has survived a lot in the first game, surviving the second however is going to be itsy bitsy hard. Mainly because of how Ellie is soo enraged. So I am curious if they killed him or kidnaped him. I am also curious about how much they are going to push the envelope when comes to the gore, important death scenes, and just unusual enemies. By unusual I mean the same way Sony Bend studio did with Days Gone little babies freaks.
As for the multiplayer not being there well it sucks for the people who wanted that. However, we are going to get 2 blue ray discs of single-player content. Meaning the game is going to be twice as long. The Last Of Us blew us out of the water with its music, but also the visuals. I am looking forward to seeing how The Last Of Us 2 is going to improve upon both. Knowing Naughty Dog track records we are going to have a blast, I can’t wait.
