With night racing, rain, hydroplaning through puddles and a beginning roster of over 450 cars, Forza Motorsport 6 has significantly built upon the Xbox One foundation laid by its predecessor, Forza Motorsport 5. With all of the work Turn 10 Studios has done to make Forza Motorsport 6 their most impressive racer yet one controversial aspect of the previous game was left out. Turn 10 Studios Content Director John Wendl commented that they will not be in this game while talking to Shack News.
“The only way microtransactions would come back is if sometime in the life cycle, players are asking for it, just as an option or something like that. We’re hoping the in-game economy will support how people will play the game.”
Wendl noted that there are many ways to earn in-game credits in Forza Motorsport 6 and the prize spinner is notably easier for winning big prizes. While he did not specifically rule out the return of microtransactions, he claimed that they would be in response to requests from the player community. “The only way microtransactions would come back is if sometime in the life cycle, players are asking for it, just as an option or something like that. We’re hoping the in-game economy will support how people will play the game,” Wendl said. In fact, a lack of credits won’t be an issue according to Wendl, “If we were going to break the economy, we were going to break it on the other side this time.”
