The animated series that is an adaption of Eric Nylund’s novel,The Fall of Reach, will be available to those who buy Halo 5 Limited Collector’s Edition, Limited Edition, or Digital Deluxe Version. SEQUENCE, the company that brought us the terminal videos from Halo 4 and Halo 2: Anniversary, is bringing this Halo: CE prequel novel to life. The Halo Channel Xbox One and Windows app will be the only way to watch this when Halo 5: Guardians comes out October 27th.
For those that don’t know, The Fall of Reach was originally released back in October of 2001, and it’s about the origins of the SPARTAN-II‘s and certain events that lead up to Halo: CE. The Fall of Reach was also released as a comic and revised novel in 2010. Thanks to Eric Nylund having to write this book in only a few weeks; before Halo:CE came out, the “Halo Story Bible” was created and helped him to keep everything canon.
