Watch the first trailer for The Mandalorian – an original Star Wars series

The fine folks over at Lucasfilm have released the very first trailer for the upcoming original Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. As we reported previously, Pedro Pascal fills the boots of the bounty hunter Mandalorian (no, it is not Boba or Jango Fett) while Jon Favreau serves as both writer and executive producer. You can watch the trailerfor yourself below:

This new story is set about seven years after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi. It seems that the collapse of the Empire has resulted in a collapse of governments and many worlds have fallen victim to lawlessness.

The trailer shows a remarkable level of detail typically only found in feature films. It begins with the rather grisly image of old stormtrooper helmets impaled on pikes. At one point a droid who looks very much like IG-88 from The Empire Strikes Back can be seen fighting in a battle. Is it just me or does the Mandalorian’s ship look a little like Serenity from the ill-fated series Firefly?

The Mandalorian will launch on November 12th. You can watch the series exclusively on Disney+, the upcoming streaming service from the entertainment giant. The service will launch with over 500 full movies and 7,000 episodes of television shows. If you are worried about the ability tomstream video at good quality, you will be glad to know that you can download episodes on up to 10 devices for each account.

Will you watch The Mandalorian when it is released later this year? We would love to know your thoughts.
