Before they went on to exclusively develop games based on LEGOs as TT Games, Traveler’s Tales once worked on games pertaining to many licensees in the 1990s and early 2000s (with a few original titles in the mix). These ranged from movie properties like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Toy Story to gaming icons like Sonic the Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot. Like any long-running team, there are plenty of things stashed away regarding development of these titles. Fortunately for us, these things are being dug up by the founder himself.
If you ever wanted insight on how such games came to fruition, among other things, Traveler’s Tales founder Jon Burton is gradually releasing insightful videos showcasing prototypes and concepts for some of their work – some of which are for games that never even saw the light of the day! Examples include a small build of what could have been a sequel to Mickey Mania, as well as an animated clip serving as a pitch for the company to make a video game based on Wallace & Gromit.
You can find these videos on Jon Burton’s YouTube channel (known as “GameHut”), or you can follow him on Twitter. Who knows what more could be revealed from the archives at TT Games?
