This is the last weekend of January 2018 and Jumanji has been overthrown. Maze Runner: The Death Cure gobbled up an estimated $23 million this weekend and became king of the box office. The long-awaited sequel did not do as well as the first two movies in the Maze Runner franchise. So far the movie is sitting at $105 million worldwide on a production budget of $65 million. If you have been paying attention for the last few weeks you may have noticed a little film called The Greatest Showman. Currently the movie is crawling back up the top five; it was in fifth and is now sitting in fourth place. Now that we are in a limbo week with only one movie coming out next weekend, this article wont be as long as usual.
To supplement that lack of movieness I love to pour out in my articles, I will add a trailer to the bottom of the page. The thing is – I don’t want to see this movie. I feel like it’s just destroying my youth. That movie is called Dundee.
Weekend Top Five
5. The Post $8.8 million
4. The Greatest Showman $9.5 million
3. Hostiles $10 million
2. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle $16 million
1. Maze Runner: The Death Cure $23 million
Next weekend horror fans will get the almost realistic version of the Winchester Mansion. If you have ever driven around California you would see these brochures for the tours of the mansion in a hotel. I never went as a kid but maybe someday I will go and visit that place. Until then, I’ll just have to watch this movie once it comes to Redbox or my Xbox One.
