During a podcast with KindaFunnyGames, Aaron Greenberg explained why they decided to launch the upcoming title on the same day asĀ Fallout 4, which is one of the most anticipated titles this holiday.
Rise of the Tomb Raider follows on the smash hit from 2013, the Tomb Raider reboot which sold over 7 Million units on all platforms. Microsoft defended their choice for the launch date saying that the game would do well regardless of Fallout 4.
āThe challenge with Tomb Raider is if you go a week later youāre against Star Wars Battlefront, if you go a week earlier youāll be against Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and if you go two weeks earlier youāre against Halo.”
This November is already stacked to the brim with blockbuster franchises, like Fallout 4 and Call of Duty. It will be interesting to see how Rise of the Tomb Raider does during the holiday with so much competition. Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch exclusively on Xbox One this holiday, and will launch on other platforms in late 2016.
Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on November 11th on Xbox One in North America, and November 10th in Europe. You can currently pre-order it on Xbox Live, or grab the Xbox One Tomb Raider bundle which includes the Critically Acclaimed Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
