BioWare are the makers of the beloved franchises Mass Effect and Dragon Age with Anthem coming out next year and available for pre-order through numerous retailers. In a new studio update, Casey Hudson, General Manager of BioWare, talked about everything the studio is working on. He also made a small announcement that they have been working on a secret Dragon Age project and will have more to announce in the coming month.
Here’s what Casey Hudson said:
Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)
That coming month is December, when the Game Awards 2018 happen on the 6th. While that is all that was mentioned about Dragon Age, that’s enough to spark speculation and dreams of a new Dragon Age created strictly for this generation of consoles.
Earlier this year, Casey Hudson talked about how BioWare understood that fans wanted more Dragon Age and Mass Effect games “loud and clear.” Hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
The last time we saw Dragon Age was with Dragon Age: Inquisition, which released on November 18th, 2014 was cross-generational, releasing on PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time. Let’s just hope it does better than Mass Effect: Andromeda did. With the patches and the recent 4K update it received for the Xbox One X, Andromeda is a far cry from what it was at launch so you should give it another try.
