Earlier this month I had written about Rectify Gaming’s claim that Microsoft had a marketing deal for several third party video games. One of the games on the list was the as of yet unannounced Borderlands 3. This is apparently untrue – at least in the case of Borderlands 3.
Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox Software, has taken to Twitter and directly responded to the rumor of a possible marketing deal with Microsoft.
Where are you getting that? Gearbox signed no such thing with Microsoft. How are these things becoming propagated as fact when there is zero basis in reality?

This news puts the rest of Rectify Gaming’s list into question. Some of the other marketing deals they claimed to be secured by Microsoft include Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield V and Splinter Cell.
