This weekend Black Panther was finally dethroned as the top grossing movie domestically. Pacific Rim: Uprising has now taken over the crown. However, that victory may be for only one weekend; Ready Player One comes out on March 29th.
Even through Black Panther is not the top movie at the box office, it is now the highest domestic super hero movie of all time. It now sits at $630 million while the original Avengers movie is at $623 million. Â The Robot vs Kajui sequel grossed an estimated $28 million this weekend domestically. The movie has grossed over $122 million world-wide bringing the total to $150 million so far. The movie could easily gross at least $500 million worldwide. Sherlock Gnomes was the only other movie what opened this past weekend in the top five. It opened with $10.6 million in its first weekend. It did beat out the bomb of a video game adaption Tomb Raider as that movie dropped to fifth and only grossed $10.4 million.
