Obsidian Entertainment has a long history, having worked on RPGs such as Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Pillars of Eternity and more. Their next game might be closer than we think, as it looks like Obsidian is revealing a new game at the Game Awards 2018.
It began with Obsidian teasing something on Twitter:Â
Hmmm… anyone else getting those ads on https://t.co/i158nrCxBL???

When you visit the official website for Obsidian Entertainment, you’re greeted by an interesting message like in the cover image for this post. At X018, Head of Microsoft Studios Matt Booty announced that Obsidian Entertainment (alongside InXile Entertainment) was being acquired by Microsoft. As this new game was already in development with Take-Two’s Private Division publishing it, this will likely be Obsidian’s last multiplatform game. Any future titles will almost certainly be limited to Xbox and Windows platforms.
The aesthetic for the game’s teasers are very interesting and lean towards something of a space western:Geoff Keighley confirmed the upcoming reveal with the Twitter post below:Â
Don't miss the global premiere and announcement of the upcoming RPG by @Obsidian and @PrivateDivision at @TheGameAwards streaming live everywhere next Thursday, December 6 at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT. #WorldsWillChange pic.twitter.com/LjW8GmdwcB
