This past weekend a horror franchise took back the top spot at the box office. The Halloween movie that has nothing to do with Rob Zombie topped the box office this weekend. Halloween brought in an estimated $77 million against some stiff competition. We have a review of the movie which you can read here.
A Star is Born, Venom, Goosebumps 2, and First Man all round out the rest of the top five movies this weekend. Venom couldn’t find the strength to swing into second place, it just tumbled right into third place. Still, Venom is close to $500 million worldwide, as it sits at $461 million right now. It seems that A Star is Born just won’t make it to the top spot, as it grossed $19.3 million.
Weekend Top Five
5. First Man $8.5 million
4. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween $9.7 million
3. Venom $18.1 million
2. A Star is Born $19.3 million
1. Halloween $77 million
Next weekend, two movies will be opening in a wide enough release that they could possible become a challenge to either Halloween or A Star is Born. Indivisible and Hunter Killer will both be coming out next weekend. Next weekend is the final weekend in October, so it should be a good finish to a great month at the box office.
