The Batman prequel has been renewed for a third season this week. It has been hard for hardcore fans to take this show seriously. Gotham has proved that it kind find a place in the ever growing world of DC shows.
Gotham will start a new arc on March 21st that will involve the Penguins father played by Paul Reubens. So much has happened in the last episode that is seems like the show could actually end it’s second season on a high note. The involvement of Hugo Strange has already added some much needed life to a show that can drag on at times. The show is receiving high praise from within FOX itself. David Madden the entertainment president of FOX Broadcasting stated on Variety, “It takes a very special team to tell the tales of ‘Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of ‘Gotham’ and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”
DC renewed others shows Arrow and The Flash right before they announced Gotham also is getting a renewal. All signs are looking up for Supergirl to receive a second season as well. The one thing that most people need to remember when watching this show is that DC is a multiverse of worlds. It may not be like the comics at times, Gotham does strive to find its own place in the Batman mythology.
