Activision have made available it’s sales numbers for it’s latest launch of Call of Duty. The 3rd instalment of Black Ops raked in $550 Million in just 3 days, making it the biggest launch of any game this year. We don’t have any word on Fallout 4’s numbers yet but with such a big launch for Fallout, we believe this crown will soon be taken away.
In comparison, Black Ops 2 reached $500 Million in just 24 hours making this release quite muted against older games. According to Activision, Black Ops 3 digital sales rose 100% on all platforms it was launched on. Black Ops 3 released on November 6th on Xbox One, Windows and PS4. Earlier this week, UK charts revealed that Black Ops 3 ranked 7th in the list of best selling Call of Duty games, showing how the franchise is slowly in decline.
Halo 5: Guardians broke the record for the Halo franchise when Microsoft announced the Xbox One exclusive reached 400 Million in sales in just one week. Black Ops 3 became the most streamed game on Twitch this year.
Activision did not release actual sales numbers, and it’s unclear if the $550 Million includes hardware sales. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is currently available on the Xbox One store.
