After a two-year wait fans finally get to see Deadpool 2. Unsurprisingly, the movie is already breaking records at the box office. Currently Deadpool 2 opened with $53 million. The movie is expected to do very well in its first weekend.
Deadpool 2 has eclipsed the movie IT as the best opening day for a rated-R movie. IT had actually taken the title from the original Deadpool with $50.4 million. Deadpool 2 also took the record for Thursday night sales with $18.6 million. That record was also previously held by the movie IT.
There really should be no issue for Ryan Renolds and company to overtake the Avengers: Infinity War as the top grossing movie this weekend. The movie opened in a record 4,349 North American locations; this is the widest release ever for a Fox movie.
