During the April 2019 episode of Inside Xbox, the team at Xbox announced that Ninja Gaiden II is now backward compatible.

This now takes the total to 556 Xbox 360 games, 25 X enhanced 360 games and 33 Original Xbox games available on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games run at 4 times the original resolution on the Xbox One X. All Original Xbox games run at 4x resolution on the Xbox One S and 16x resolution on the Xbox One X.
