Sony have announced that Playstation Plus prices will be increasing for subscribers in Europe. The company announced the price changes which will be put into effect as of August 31st 2017 in an email sent to Playstation Plus subscribers this week .
Within the UK, the annual subscription cost will increase by a dramatic 25% – from £39.99 to £49.99. Similarly, the quarterly and monthly prices will also increase. The quarterly subscription will cost £19.99 – an increase of £5, and the monthly payment option now costs £6.99 – £1 extra per month.
There is a way around the price hikes however, Sony hints at players stocking up on annual memberships while the price remains low. This forward buying means your subscription won’t be susceptible to the planned price increases.
Within the email – which you can read below – Sony announces that the price will be automatically altered as of  August 31st, so if you don’t agree with the changes you will have to physically turn off “auto-renew” via your own account settings.
