Some of the most fondly remembered titles for the Nintendo 64 came from Rare. Few gamers who were around back then would argue with that and to this day Xbox owners will comment on their desire for a “classic” Rare game.
They may get their wish. Microsoft has recently trademarked Jet Force Gemini though it is unclear if this is for a reboot of the legendary shooter or merely to protect the original title found in Rare Replay.
Apparently the trademark process began last summer but was held back due to legal technicalities surrounding the word “Jet”. Everything seems to be in order now and the trademark was approved on January 19th.
Microsoft has been quite busy with trademarks lately. Other recent trademarks from the company include Fragments, Roboraider and Phantom Dust.
