Killer Instinct Season 3 was announced back in August but we haven’t heard much about it since then, but with the release coming soon we’re finally getting some news on the next expansion for the hit fighting game.
The first bit of news concerns the upcoming PC port of the game, you’ll need to be running Windows 10 to be able to play the game. Killer Instinct won’t be available on previous versions of Windows or on Steam.
Microsoft also offered a lot of info about what will be in season 3. The first of which is that every character from the past two seasons will receive balance updates and two characters will receive overhauls to certain things.
There will also be more characters available at launch than there was for season 2, this includes the previously announced Kim Wu and the newly revealed Tusk (both of which were in the original Killer Instinct 2).
Back in May of 2015, there was a mini-fundraiser for the KI community to raise money by backing “community bundles” to help fund tournaments and get the Shadow Jago character made. It’s announced that there will be more of these in season 3 to get any content the community wants that hasn’t already been made. Microsoft & Iron Galaxy said they’ll be listening to the fans for what to offer so let your voice be heard! I’m personally hoping Perfect Dark‘s Joanna Dark will get in as a guest character.
Microsoft Studios creative director, Adam Isgreen, even has a poll running on characters that could possibly be given the crowdfunding treatment.
Ok #KillerInstinct fans, if we do a 2nd community fund and include a shadow character, who should it be?
