Xbox One’s ReCore Taking Inspiration from Zelda and Metroid.

Not many details have been given for the Xbox One exclusive game, ReCore, but a recent interview with developer Armature Studio revealed the game’s possible inspiration comes from The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. The Verge recently interviewed Mark Pacini from Armature who is the co-founder of the studio and also has previously worked on the game Metroid Prime.

In the interview Pacini revealed that the game was inspired by a number of titles but specifically from The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune’s Comcept Inc. is working alongside Armature Studio on the Xbox One exclusive. Pacini didn’t believe the game would be a good idea when the collaboration was first discussed due to the Xbox Ones reveal and the console focus on film, and TV.

The team behind ReCore were not forced to use features like Kinect or Smartglass because Microsoft wanted a game specifically for gamers.

This gave relief to Pacini who stated that, “It feels like, for us, the runway’s been kind of cleared. So we can just concentrate on making a really good game and putting features in that make sense for this game.”

Although information about ReCore is scarce, according to Phil Spencer we will find out more about ReCore in 2016.

ReCore is set to release in Q1 of 2016 exclusively on Xbox One.
