Ubisoft Has “Several Surprises” For The NX

Ubisoft was one of the first companies to announce games for Nintendo’s NX; the company’s latest Just Dance will be hitting Nintendo’s mysterious console, presumably when the console launches. Luckily that won’t be the only Ubisoft game on the system, as Alain Corre confirmed in an interview with gamesindustry.biz that there are several surprises yet to be revealed.

Corre says that Ubisoft has several surprises for the NX. While, he doesn’t go into detail about these games it’s safe to assume a couple could be launch titles. Watch Dogs 2 is an incredibly likely candidate for the launch period, as it releases this fall. Next year’s Assassin’s Creed could also launch on the NX alongside the other systems. Maybe Corre was also hinting at possible exclusives for the system? Ubisoft still owes Nintendo an exclusive Rayman after the Rayman Legends debacle.

Corre goes on to say that he “…believes Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing”. Very strong praise for the console. He also goes on to praise Nintendo’s franchises and how they’ve stayed so popular for so long.

Ubisoft’s planned support for the NX is good news. The Wii U struggled with third party support, as most publishers dropped the console after launch. If Ubisoft is already getting invested in the console, then hopefully the other big names will too. Sega already has plans to release games on it with next year’s Sonic game already announced for the NX.

While the NX is still unrevealed, we should be getting a look at the console in the coming months. Nintendo has its release slated for March 2017, so we should be getting news on the reveal any day now.
