Tony Hawk, legendary and professional skater, has revealed when his next skateboard game will be available. In this Tweet he says that the release date for THPS5 (Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5) will be Sep. 29 for Xbox One and PS4. With the 360 and PS3 versions coming “later this year”.
With the announcement, in November of ’14, of Tony Hawk and Activision making a game that would please the fans of the old Pro Skater games, made people excited for a return to the beloved franchise. The past few Tony Hawk games strayed from what made the Pro Skater games unique, arcade-y, and fun to play with friends. From jumping off your board and walking around a town/level to using a plastic skateboard and more just didn’t feel like the older games. They, Robomodo (part of the development for THPS5), did make a HD remake of THPS1-3 back in 2012 that brought back many of the memories of the original games.
Here’s hoping that we’ll all feel like we did when we first played Tony Hawk Pro Skater all those years ago and have fun with the new one on Sep. 29th!
