The creator of Fire Force, Atsushi Ohkubo has announced that the series will be his last. In the 23rd volume of the series, he said: “The story is also in its final stage, and for me, I plan for this to be my last manga, so please accompany me until the very end.” So what does this mean for the anime? Well, the second season of the anime is still in the works. The manga launched back in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine back in 2015.

Whatever the reason for Atsushi Ohkubo’s departure from the industry we wish him the best of luck in whatever endeavors he embarks on next and hope for his return in the future.
