Sony Has Just Unveiled The PlayStation Classic

In a world where the NES and SNES minis are some of the best selling hardware month after month, it is not surprising to see PlayStation throw their hat in on this booming market. Early this morning PlayStation announced in a blog post in celebration of almost 25 years since the launch of the PS1 back on December 3rd, 1994.  Sony will be releasing the PlayStation Classic which will contain such classic titles as Final Fantasy VII, Wild Arms, Tekken 3, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4 and 15 other currently unannounced titles.

The PlayStation Classic is roughly 45% smaller than the original PS1, and it maintains that very retro feel with similar controllers and packaging which is a huge nostalgia boost for the original fans. If you don’t want to go through the hassle of hunting down an original PS1 and trying to find a long list of classic games (that can also be very expensive depending on the title) then the PS1 classic might be the ticket to memory lane.

The PlayStation Classic will be releasing for $99.99 USD (MSRP) / $129.99 CAN (MSRP) and will be available on December 3rd 2018 in celebration of the historic landmark of the launch of the PS1.
