May 2019 NPD: Mortal Kombat Reigns as King, Days Gone, Total War and Rage 2 Follow

The May 2019 NPD results are in, covering video games sales in the month of May in the USA. Per NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, This month didn’t see a ton of changes, as Mortal Kombat 11 and Days Gone kept their #1 and #2 spots from last month respectively. Arriviving this month at the #3 spot was Total War: Three Kingdoms, while Rage 2 debuted at #4.

On the hardware side, the Nintendo Switch was again the bestselling console for the month. The Nintendo Switch has been the bestselling console year-to-date for 2019.

Here are the numbers for the May 2019 NPD results:

• Total: $641 million (Down 11% from $717 million in May 2018)
• Hardware: $149 million (Down 20% from $186 million)
• PC and console software: $262 million (Down 13% from $302 million)
• Accessories: $230 million (Up 0% from $229 million)
