Justice League Dark Movie Loses Its Director

DC is no stranger to losing directors at this point. The upcoming Flash movie has been through so many directors it’s tough to keep track. Now the supernatural movie Justice League Dark has lost director Doug Liman. The film will focus on the lesser-known supernatural superhero team consisting of the likes of John Constantine, Swamp Thing and Zatanna, although little is known of the plot so far. It seems fans of these characters will have to wait a little longer to see them on the big screen.

Liman actually left Fox’s superhero movie Gambit in order to join the project last year. He replaced original director Guillermo Del Toro. However, now it appears Liman has a little too much on his plate to commit to Justice League Dark, AKA Dark Universe. His reason for leaving has been quoted as scheduling issues. It appears legitimate considering his movie Chaos Walking recently got the green light, and he has war movie The Wall and Tom Cruise-vehicle American Made both out this year. Not only that, but Liman is working on the sequel to sci-fi hit Edge of Tomorrow, also starring Tom Cruise.

The Wrap reports that DC and Warner Bros. are already on the search for a replacement, with Andy Muschietti, director of the new It movie, among the shortlist.

This departure is another piece of bad news for DC, but swapping directors does not necessarily spell disaster. Here’s hoping they can find someone to steady the ship soon.
