Geralt Soulcalibur VI

Geralt of Rivia May Appear in Soulcalibur VI

The Soulcalibur franchise has a long history of guest characters that are extreme even by fighting game standards. After all, Soulcalibur II featured Link from The Legend of Zelda, and Soulcalibur IV had Yoda and Darth Vader of Star Wars. So, it should come as no surprise that Soulcalibur VI will likely have guest characters as well. The guest himself may come as a surprise however, as according to Let’s Play Video Games, it’s none other than Geralt of Rivia, the White Wolf of The Witcher franchise.

Here’s the full report on the Geralt Soulcalibur VI rumor:

A few weeks ago, anonymous sources contacted LPVG with this information. However, while we have vetted the sources to be legitimate, acquiring the further evidence required for publication proved difficult. Until today, that is.

A tweet by CD PRojekt Red’s community lead Marcin Momot has now teased that Geralt will be “making an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year” for the very first time. This tweet gives enough credence to the reports we received for publication – Geralt is happening, folks.

Here’s the eyebrow-raising tweet in question:

This isn’t all though. A short while ago, a poster on the ResetEra forums going by the username shotopunx claimed they had a friend who was testing the game, and that Geralt was a guest character. On its own, this obviously could be dismissed as a mere “my uncle works for Nintendo” type rumor however, in light of everything else here, I’d say it’s almost certainly accurate.

Geralt is an awesome character, so seeing him as a guest in Soulcalibur VI will be pretty cool. Hopefully we’ll see an official announcement made soon. In the meanwhile, if you’d like to see more of Soulcalibur VI, be sure to check out the recent trailers here, which confirmed Ivy and Zasalamel were returning.
