For players downloading the latest beta patch, you’ll be happy to know that you will be getting access to new mod features that allow you to install, critique and bookmark mods all within the game client.

Bethesda also released their Creation Kit for free on their website. For an idea on the Creation Kit, this is what was used to make Fallout 4 itself. It will be interesting to see what the gaming community can make given this tool.

“The life of Fallout 4 in your hands is going to take us all places none of us anticipated,” Fallout 4 director Todd Howard said in an accompanying video released today.

A new post on Bethesda’s blog post, said “You can now browse and search for the latest and greatest Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all within the game. Simply select Mods from the main menu, and start browsing… We plan to update and evolve Mods and the Creation Kit based on your experiences so be sure to leave feedback in our forums.”

For those of you who play through Steam and want to get in on this, you’ll have to right-click on the game in your library, go to Properties, and then Betas. There, Update 1.5 should be there from the drop-down menu, select it and the game should install the patch. Then, you’ll be on your way exploring new mods with the greatest of ease in no time!

Although, console players will have to wait just a little bit longer, sadly. Mods will be available on Xbox One sometime in May, while PlayStation 4 owners won’t receive them until June. It is still yet to be unseen how modding will work on console.

Fallout 4 originally came out November 10th, 2015 with positive reviews with Metacritic giving it a 4.5/5 and Trusted Reviews giving it a 8/10.
