Expect Fallout 4’s First Patch as soon as next week

The first Fallout 4 patch is just around the corner. Bethesda will release a beta version of the patch on Steam as early as next week, followed by an official release on PC. Consoles will follow sometime later.

“It’s true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once,” Bethesda explained on its website.

Bethesda added that Fallout 4 is its “most robust and solid release ever,” despite its issues. The game reportedly sold 1.8 million digital copies in its first three days, so at least some buyers likely agree. Our review of Fallout 4 also made mention of the bugs, but noted that they don’t detract from what is a spectacular game overall.

“Expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones,” the post continues.

We’ll be sure to provide specifics on what the patch fixes, as well as a more specific release window, when they become clear.
