A Twitch Prime subscription can get you up to a year of Nintendo Switch Online for free

It is no secret that Twitch Prime subscribers have been enjoying some seriously impressive perks ranging from in-game loot, exclusive skins and even free games. Now Twitch is offering one of the best perks ever from a paid subscription – you can get up to one year of Nintendo Switch Online with your Twitch Prime account. That benefit alone is worth approximately $20 USD.

There is a catch but it is a minor one. When you first claim this perk you will be given a code for a three-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. After 60 days have passed you will be able to get a second code good for a nine-month subscription to the service. I suppose this is to prevent people from signing up for Twitch Prime for just a month and claim the entire year of Nintendo Switch Online. If you are already a subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online, don’t worry – this deal will stack with your existing membership. The extra months will simply be added to your account.

To take advantage of this deal, simply log in to Twitch. If you have an active Prime subscription you will see a little icon in the shape of a crown. Clicking on that will show all of the perks you can claim including the Switch Online code. See the screenshot below for an example.

A Nintendo Switch Online account lets you use the online multiplayer modes of games on the console. Subscribers can also download and play a growing library of classic NES games and even an exclusive battle royale take on a familiar puzzle title – Tetris 99.

If you are an Amazon Prime subscriber then you automatically qualify for a Twitch Prime membership at no extra cost. Considering that an Amazon Prime account is $119 per year or roughly $13 per month, it is not worth subscribing just for Nintendo Switch Online. However, if you already subscribe to Amazon Prime then it is certainly a nice benefit.
