Nier: Automata, the latest entry in the Drakengard series, developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix, released early last year to critical praise and has found a very strong audience on PlayStation 4 and PC. For a variety of possible reasons however, it did not release on Xbox One. That might be changing soon, according to a new rumor from Jeuxvideo.com, who claim they have source stating that a Nier: Automata Xbox One version is on the way.
Here’s the original tweet that talked about a Nier: Automata Xbox One version:
NieR Automata devrait bientôt débarquer sur Xbox One, selon une source qui a préféré rester anonyme :https://t.co/yZRygvNREo pic.twitter.com/0wxSE5cGa1

It’s definitely important to emphasize that this is a rumor. With that said, it definitely makes a degree of sense. It’s not PlayStation 4 exclusive, as it’s already on Steam. While Platinum Games and Microsoft don’t exactly have the best relationship after the cancellation of Scalebound, if Square Enix sees monetary potential, they might have worked something out. Phil Spencer has also made it clear that he wants more Japanese-centric games on Xbox and this would be a great show of faith for backing up that statement.
