Xbox Series X and Hellblade 2 Announced

In what was perhaps the most shocking reveal at The Game Awards Microsoft announced Hellblade 2. The most interesting tidbit about the announcement is that it will be a title for the newly announced Xbox Series X. That’s right, the official title of the next generation Xbox is called Xbox Series X.

The new console resembles a PC tower with its vertical alignment. It appears as though the console will still play discs as seen with its disc slot. According to Microsoft the controller is derived from the Xbox Elite controller. The D-Pad is from the Elite controller and there is now a Share button added to the controller. The name of the console also hints that there may be other versions of the console. With this version being Serious X, a disc less all digital version could be under a different series title.

Console news aside, the new Hellblade looks to continue with the previous protagonist Senua. Not exactly sure what is going on but visually it looks on par if not better than the previous installment in the series. According to Microsoft “the footage shared tonight was captured in-engine and reflects the power of Xbox Series X available to developers to deliver new universes, experiences and games in ways you have never imagined.”.

With over a million people watching The Game Awards, it’s no surprised Microsoft was comfortable dropping this news out of nowhere. For more on the Xbox Series X follow us @TiCGamesNetwork.
