Xbox One Sales ‘Really Strong’ this Black Friday according to Microsoft

With Black Friday over and Cyber Monday behind us we can now assess which platform performed the best during this critical shopping period. Microsoft slashed the price of the Xbox One this Black Friday and will continue to be offered at it’s new low price of $299. When asked how well the Xbox One did, Microsoft head of Xbox Marketing Aaron Greenberg said that according to his sources, the Xbox One performed extremely well.

“My sources tell me both systems sold very well,” he said. “Great news for gamers.”

The Xbox One managed to outsell their competitors last month in the US with the launch of Halo 5: Guardians, raking in over $400 Million in one week. It will be interesting albeit unlikely to see if the Xbox One would be able to continue it’s dominance this holiday season.

With the next NPD data release coming up, and both Adobe and Infoscout at odd over which platform performed the best during this season, this NPD would be quite eventful. Games that released during the Black Friday Month was Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 which stumbled a bit sales wise, Star Wars: Battlefront which disappointed Gamestop with lacklustre sales and the doorbuster release of Fallout 4 which managed to move over 12 Million units in 24 hours. It was also the month of the release of the latest Rise of the Tomb Raider, which according to Crystal Dynamics, is doing extremely well.
