Xbox One is Doing Things Other Consoles “Can’t Do”

In an interview with Kudo Tsundoa, Xbox Executive, over at GameIndustry International, he talks about some of the features that the Xbox One can do that what the PlayStation 4 or other consoles can’t. Backwards Compatibility and Cross-play/Cross-buy with PC are a few things he mentions that are slowly, but surely giving the Xbox One a position of control for this console generation.

Each company is using the Cross-Play/Cross-Buy thing in a unique way, but Kudo goes to mention that Xbox is giving you the chance “to play what you love, and play together, regardless of what device you’re playing on. It’s about connecting people.” Xbox 360 did have a game or two that could be played with and against PC players, but not like this. With Windows 10 it gives the people who haven’t bought a Xbox One the chance to play Fable Legends and more with their friends.

Kudo goes on to mention why Xbox One is getting backwards compatibility. Gamers still want to play their older games from last generation and before, which is why backwards compatibility “was the number one most requested feature for Xbox One by far.” Sony doesn’t think that backwards compatibility would be worth it on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo only really does “free” backwards compatibility on their handheld.

Even the Xbox One line of first-party exclusives are knocking everyone else out of the park. From Halo 5: Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6 to Fable Legends and Sea of Thieves, the Xbox One has a title for everyone to play and love, with 5 of those exclusives coming out by the end of the year and at least 4 titles releasing next year.
