Xbox One Exclusive Sales Up 49% in February, Far Cry Primal Best Selling in the US

Despite a massive drop in sales for the market which saw a decline of 23% for the month, next gen consoles managed to stay relatively in single digit declines across the board. Microsoft also stated that the total hours playing on their console jumped 93%, which is great for developers.

““The unmatched lineup of games available on Xbox One continues to generate a strong response from gamers as seen through global Xbox Live engagement and exclusive game sales. Compared to February 2015, exclusive Xbox One U.S. game sales drove a 49 percent increase and the total number of hours spent gaming on Xbox One worldwide rose 93 percent.”

Far Cry Primal, which launched this month rocketed to the top of the charts and kicked Call of Duty from the throne. Naruto also featured in the charts grabbing the 4th spot ahead of the botched launch of Street Fighter V. The game was heavily criticized over the thin content and broken online service. Capcom have been working to fix these issues. The game launched this month on PC and other platforms.

Last gen consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3) declined even further by 77% this month, and at this point they most likely make up a tiny sliver of the market in full.
