Xbox Ends 2015 on a Bang with Exclusive Game Sales Up 69%

The NPD group released the sales charts for the month of December and the full year last night. Unsurprisingly Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 took the number one spot for both December and the full year. Star Wars Battlefront took the second spot and the latest in the Fallout franchise took third. Madden NFL was the second best selling title in the US, followed by Fallout 4 during the whole 2015.

Interestingly, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars: Battlefront sold more on Xbox One than any other platform during 2015. As for exclusive games, none made the top 10 this year.

“Revenue from Xbox Store’s Countdown, the biggest Xbox Store sale ever, broke records with 69 percent growth year-over-year when compared to results from last year’s sale,” Microsoft said. “Xbox One is the best place for gamers and the only console that has all top 10 best-selling titles of this generation that launched in 2015. With an incredible catalog of first-party and third-party games on Xbox One and available through Xbox One Backward Compatibility, 2015 was a tremendous year for gamers, and we’re looking forward to making 2016 an even better one.”
