Weekly News Wrap-Up – May 20th

Another week has passed us by, bringing a boat load of interesting info! There was so much that happened this week, it was difficult picking out those top spots! Here’s what made the top of the news list this week:

 

Say Goodbye To Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked

Looks like membership holders are going to be out of luck from now on with their purchases. The GCU program will officially be shut down. Will you be taking your business elsewhere, or continue with Best Buy? You can read more about it right here.

Rage 2 Gameplay Reveal

After teasing gamers all weekend long with pics posted on Twitter, Bethesda finally announced Rage 2 with a very oddball trailer. Gameplay trailer followed the day after this announcement, and absolutely shocked everybody! Are you hyped!? I sure am! Check out the gameplay here.

Boss Key Productions Shuts Down

It’s never good to see a studio close. Jobs are lost and the potential for future games is gone, whether they would have been good or bad. Cliff Bleszinkski announced the closure of Boss Key Productions, bringing an official end to Radical Heights and Lawbreakers. Read more about it here.

New Xbox Adaptive Controller Announced

Xbox has created something truly special here. A controller that people with accessibility needs can use to be able to enjoy games just like everyone else. This is an amazing initiative by Microsoft that i hope other companies soon follow. Read more about it here.

Inside Xbox Ep. 3

There was a TON of information dropped in this months episode of Inside Xbox! Everything from the Sea of Thieves content update, to Miramar officially coming to the main game servers! Let’s not talk about the escape room though. I’ve listed links below for each of the major announcements.

No Man’s Sky multiplayer officially confirmed

Miramar is coming to the Xbox One version of PUBG on May 24th

Battlefield V

Battlefield V officially announced! It will #NeverBeTheSame and we get to find out exactly what will change on May 23rd. Could this prove beneficial to the future of the franchise? And will the lack of single-player in Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII bring more players to Battlefield? Read more here.
