Prepare for the fourth Disney adaptation with The Jungle Book! A trailer dropped today, and whilst it’s not for the much awaited Captain America: Civil War, it is for another equally anticipated Disney film. The trailer (which you can view at the top of the article or down below) shows off the film’s gorgeous animation and scope, all to the sound of Scarlett Johansson’s terrifying Kaa.
The video starts off with sweeping shots of the Indian jungle and these are followed by a serpent’s silky voice asking Mowgli “Are you alone out here?”. We then get a view of Mowgli standing in what one would assume is Kaa’s lair. Scene switches and now we see Shere Khan standing atop a hill, perhaps having just arrived in Mowgli’s area.
“What are you doing so deep in the jungle?”
As the trailer progresses we see Mowgli and Bagheera meeting for the first time, Mowgli riding atop Baloo, a quick shot of the elephant tribe containing Colonel Hathi and his wife Winifred, and finally the reveal of Kaa as she looms over her next meal. There are lots of moments in this teaser that harken back to the 1967 classic and we very much recommend you go check it out.
Disney are currently planning multiple live-action adaptations for the big screen including Beauty and the Beast (2017), Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), and Mulan and Dumbo whose release dates have yet to be announced.
The Jungle Book will release April 15th, 2016. What do you think of the upcoming Disney adaptations? Which are you looking forward to? For more movie, TV and gaming news stick right here with TiCGN!
