Thor: Ragnarok Destroys all Movies This Weekend

The third movie in the Thor franchise has brought in a large sum of money in the domestic box office. Thor: Ragnarok has made $121 million in its opening weekend. The movie had opened in the foreign market a week before it came out in the States. So far the movie is sitting at $427 million around the world. The movie can easily make that billion dollar mark at this rate.

The other movie that was released this weekend was Bad Moms Christmas. It did well considering the fact it had to face off against another Marvel juggernaut. The movie that I still can’t believe did so poorly is Suburbicon. That movie barely made $1.1 million, bringing the total to $5 million. I doubt the movie will be in theaters for the next week. Hollywood has fallen into the habit of pulling movies out of theaters early if they can’t produce enough box office revenue. Fortunately, that won’t happen with Jigsaw and Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. These two movies have just done nothing but make money for Lionsgate.

Weekend Top Five

5. Geostorm $3 million

4. Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! $4.6 million

3. Jigsaw $6.7 million

2. Bad Girls Christmas $17 million

1. Thor: Ragnarok $121 million

Two movies will be released next week that have no chance of taking down Thor: Ragnarok. I’ve been writing about this movie all summer, the only way it will get knocked off is when the Justice League is released in two weeks. But Daddy’s Home 2 and Murder on the Orient Express both have to fight for number two next week. I’m just going to leave you with one movie clip that I hope will make you laugh.
