The Evil Within Patch Removes Letterboxing

When The Evil Within launched in 2014, fans of survival horror jumped at the promise of the return to the genre by arguably the company that does it best. To much despair the game launched with letterboxing (two black bars top to bottom) on all platforms that broke the experience completely. The game have since been forgotten by fans and Bethesda have continued to push out more content and updates since then.

The game’s latest patch offered the option to run the game without this loathed cinematic letterboxing. The change will certainly make people look twice at the game when they pick it up during a sale. As for the story, the game have not seen critical success in any way, however constant updates certainly made it worth the $60 that you’re spending. Other added extras on the PC side of things include a 60FPS cap and minor fixes.

The Evil Within bundle is currently available on Xbox One.
