The Curse of La Llorona

The Curse of La Llorona Takes the top Spot From Shazam

This holiday weekend the horror film The Curse of La Llorona took the top spot over Shazam. It was a relatively slow weekend for theaters, a week before Avengers: Endgame is set to break all sorts of records.

The Curse of La Llorona grossed an estimated $26.5 million in its opening weekend. This isn’t the best opening for one of The Conjuring films, yet it will defiantly make money for the studios behind it. The budget for the film was a meer $9 million, the movie sits at over $50 million world-wide. Breakthrough opened at third with $11 million as Shazam took in $17 million. Currently the DC film is sitting at $322 million world-wide. Like I said before, don’t expect this film to cross that $500 million mark. The movie opened too close to the Marvel juggernaut that is Avengers: Endgame.

Next weekend is that movie we have all been waiting for. Avengers: Endgame is going to take over the theaters for the next few weeks or months in fact. Hopefully you can find the time to watch it this coming weekend. If not stay away from the internet. Also this weekend we have the second episode of Game of Thrones Season 8. Check out the review for the first episode right here. Did you miss the trailer for Child’s Play? Mark Hamill is now the voice of Chucky. Have a great week, and I will see you all online playing Mortal Kombat 11 this week.
