Baseball fans who happen to play games on Xbox systems haven’t had it easy over the last few years. Ever since the MLB 2K franchise had been canceled there hasn’t been a regular baseball series on the Xbox platform. That did change with the R.B.I. Baseball series but many view those games as unpolished. To put it kindly, the baseball game assortment on Xbox One has been rather bleak.

Now a ray of sunshine has appeared with the announcement of former PS4 exclusive Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings and we will be able to step up to the plate very soon. The game will be available for Xbox One on August 14th and a week later it will be on Steam. Xbox One players will be able to pre-order the game on August 7th and score a 15% discount. The game is largely similar to the current PS4 version except for some gameplay adjustments and extra content.

Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings does not have an MLB license and it is most definitely not a simulation game along the lines of The Show. The game is highly regarded though and it is good to have another choice for baseball on the Xbox One.
