The rumors that have been circulating all over the internet were true. There is a new Super Mario Cereal coming from Kellogg’s and the box will have Amiibo functionality for Super Mario Odyssey. The cereal will be on store shelves on December 11th according to a tweet from Nintendo of America:

What does the Ammibo-box unlock? We aren’t sure yet but the packaging says it unlocks “special content to power up your Super Mario Odyssey adventure”. That could be anything from costumes to coins to actual power-ups.
The cereal itself is described as berry flavored with marshmallows. Pricing will vary by store but the MSRP is $2.99 for an 8.4 ounce box.
