Sony adds acclaimed PS4 exclusives to PlayStation Now; lowers prices

Sony is the first mainstream console maker to offer a video game streaming service and they are not about to lose ground to newcomers such as Google Stadia or Microsoft’s upcoming Xcloud. Today Sony announced that critically acclaimed PS4 exclusives God of War, Uncharted 4, inFamous Second Son and legendary multiplatform game Grand Theft Auto V would be added to the PlayStation Now library. These games will be available from October 1st, 2019 to January 2nd, 2020. Furthermore, Sony promises to add more “marquee games” to the PlayStation Now library every month.

Even better, the price of PlayStation Now has been lowered to be competitive with other streaming services. A month of PlayStation Now will now cost only $9.99 USD. A quarterly plan now costs $24.99 and there is an annual option priced at $59.99. This is a large discount considering that a yearly plan used to cost about $100 USD.

PlayStation Now is available on PS4 consoles and on Windows PCs. The service contains hundreds of games spanning the PS2, PS3 and PS4 libraries. Some titles can be downloaded but most of them must be streamed.

It should be noted that while Grand Theft Auto V can be streamed, certain online features such as Grand Theft Auto Online and Rockstar Games Social Club will only work with the downloadable version.
