Right now we are in that weird week that sits between Christmas and New Year. Some players may have overlooked some news that was released in the past couple of weeks. I mean we have all been so busy with every Holiday event that’s going on. A few weeks ago Xbox Wire announced a closed beta for Phantasy Star Online 2.

“you are a member of ARKS, a task force dedicated to exploring numerous planets and protecting the universe against a malignant force called the Falspawn. Embark on a never-ending assortment of missions with fellow operatives and experience unparalleled action RPG combat, completely free to play.”-Xbox Wire

This beta is exclusively on the Xbox One, in fact, you sign up for the closed beta through your Xbox One console. All you need to do is open up the Xbox Insiders Hub app and start from there. It really only took me a few seconds to sign up. It was fast and easy to do, something more companies need to do for their betas. Also if you’re not on your Xbox One, you can use a Windows 10 device to sign up as well.

Currently, we don’t have a confirmed date for when the Phantasy Star Online 2¬†closed beta will begin. Sega is looking to release this game in 2020 so we should expect some news on a release date in a few months. Now if you own a Playstation 4, that gives you some free time to try out this closed beta that starts in January.
