While fans of Shenmue have been waiting for years to get the conclusion to the trilogy, they will unfortunately have to wait just a while longer in order to play it, as Shenmue III has been delayed to November 2019. In an update on Kickstarter, Yu Suzuki confirmed that the release date has been pushed back and that the game will now release on November 19th, 2019.

Here’s what Yu Suzuki said about the game’s delay:

Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished.

We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve!

While a delay is never a joyous occasion, fans can at least know that the game is being polished as much as possible. Shenmue III is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC. Earlier this year, SEGA released a remaster for Shenmue I and II in preparation for the long-awaited third game finally releasing.
