Sony announced the exclusive Kickstarter campaign for the sequel to much beloved Shenmue franchise at the 2015 E3 press conference to much fanfare. The crowd funding goal of $2 million was smashed in less than 24 hours. The game was announced to be coming to PS4 and PC but no details on other platforms.
On the Kickstarter page a user asked the developer whether or not there may be plans for the title coming to Xbox One at some point. He replied with “Currently we are planning development only for PC (Windows) and PS4. Other platforms have not been decided yet. If other platform versions were added as rewards, an announcement would be made on the update page.”
This means that the much beloved franchise may make its return to the Xbox family once the game is released in two or three years. More details are sketchy on Shenmue III but at least gamers who waited 14 years for the title are will finally have a chance to play it.
